It is written to meet section 13 of Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019, which requires this information to be given before data is collected.

Why it is collected
To read and respond to your enquiry, and for no other purpose. Your details are not used for marketing, are not added to a mailing list, and are not sold, rented or shared for any commercial purpose.
Who receives it
| Recipient | Role | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Beyond Impala Avenue | Reads and answers your enquiry | Uganda |
| Vercel Inc. | Hosts this website and runs the function that relays the form | Outside Uganda |
| Our email provider | Delivers the enquiry to our inbox | To be confirmed before this notice is published |
Transfer outside Uganda. Section 19 of the Act permits transfer abroad only where the destination country offers protection at least equivalent to the Act, or where you consent. The Personal Data Protection Office has not published a list of adequate countries, so your consent is the basis on which your enquiry leaves Uganda. The consent box on the form is unticked by default and submitting without it is not possible.
How long it is kept
Enquiries are relayed to our inbox and are not stored in any database on this website. The copy in our email account is retained for 24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted.
How it is protected
Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access to the enquiry inbox is limited to those at Beyond Impala Avenue who need it. We do not retain form submissions on the website itself, which removes an entire category of risk.
Your rights
Under the Act you may:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of data that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading;
- request deletion of your data;
- withdraw consent, at any time, without giving a reason;
- complain to the Personal Data Protection Office.
To exercise any of these, write to insights@beyondimpala.com. We will respond within a reasonable period and will not charge you for a first request.
Changes
If this notice changes, the revised version is published here with a new date. Material changes affecting how we use data already collected will be notified to affected people directly.
